We Play Acid has come over all eighties electro for Wpa032 Azo & Kamikaze Mary and it’s no bad thing.
Fresh from killin’ it with her remix of Wpa031 Trippin Fox aka Fox André - Your Side EP’, here we have Azo Sunshine along with long time collaborator Marie Kasemierczak aka Kamikaze Mary with their own title “You Can Do”.

Azo Sunshine is responsible for a number of top class club nights in Belgium such as the “Dance Resurrection”, “The Retro Conspiracy” and the “Ghettobreaks Party All Stars”. And Marie Kasemierczak is an accomplished singer and writer, together they bring a unique fusion of Techno, House with heavy Funk and Disco overtones.

“You Can Do ” (Original Mix) is a Roller-Boogie masterclass with Phil Collins style drums, devastating bass and spine tingling “who dunnit?” strings coupled with Kamikaze Mary’s unbelievably funky and oh so trashy rapping and vocals, it’s incredible. “You Can Do” will accelerate you to 88mph and transport you back to the 80’s like you got a Flux Capacitor on your deck. There is also an instrumental version of this for your listening pleasure.

Zip Lock aka Telúrika takes “You Can Do” on a deep techno excursion with his interpretation. Throbbing bass pounds your heart and pizzicato synths slowly nibble away at your consciousness while Mary’s vocals entangle your senses.

Badass is the word that best describes the “Panic” remix by Hard Silence, it’s futuristic Electro at its best, evil rolling basslines, tough mechanical beats, squelchy robo-synths and the re-hashing of Mary’s vocals both straight and as “vocoder food” make for a very accomplished production, it’s a total belter!

Acid Driver dives deeper in this cunning remix, Lo-Fi cymbals, un-nerving strings and a slightly dysfunctional hi-hat pattern create an atmosphere which is both intriguing and unsettling in equal measure, curiosity will get the better of you as he beckons you in, until he strikes, taking a Samurai sword to Mary’s vocals, he chops and loops building new rhythmic forms and phrases adding a whole heap of Funk to the fog.
